Trivalent aliphatic alcohol obtained from the saponification of fats or produced through the synthesis of Propylene. Non-toxic and completely soluble in water, it found use as an emollient in the preparation of canvases and, today, is essentially utilized as a softener and a plasticizer of polymers soluble in water.
