Warm mixture of beeswax, mastic resin or dammar. In restoration, on the basis of diverse dosages of the components, it is used for fixing colours in panel paintings, for glazing, or again for fixing colours on canvas in which a wax lining is foreseen. By mixing the wax with colophony, one obtains a hard wax used as a consolidate for wood damaged by worm-holes.
