Plant of the conifer family (gimnosperme). Many plants are from this family - characterized by a simply structured textile and thus denominated with a clear allusion to cone-shaped fruits - and provide a much appreciated wood for artistic use and for the realization of supports for painting. For this use, the wood of fir, pine, larch and cypress commonly appear.
