Lemma
axe
Utensil of ancient origin used - other than as a weapon - for the cutting down of trees and for working with wood. Axes are varied in style and manner in relation to the use and the local tradition. Essentially, it includes an iron that is covered in steel on the blade and the flat parts, and a hole on one end to form the handle, which is usually quite large (enough space for 2 hands), straight or curved. Axes are distinguished into three main categories: those in which the blade is parallel to the handle (the proper ax or the tree ax), those with a transversal blade and those with the handle slightly angled with respect to the blade.
